Mikael Björling tillhör forskargruppen i kemi och intresserar sig bland annat för luftkvalitet genom mätning av ventilation i byggnader med spårgastekniker, frisättning av allergener från pollen och metoder för sanering av farliga ämnen i byggnader. Mikael Björling forskar även inom ämnesdidaktik och elevers lärande i naturvetenskap och har bland annat skrivit om kemi för yngre barn.

Mikael undervisar inom kemi, miljöteknik, lärarutbildningen, ingenjörsutbildningarna och termodynamik.

AKTUELL FORSKNING

Just nu är Mikael Björling engagerad i ett forskningsprojekt om ventilation och bevarande i samarbete med Oslo Universitet inför ombyggnaden av Vikingaskepsmuseét i Oslo samt ett projekt om ventilation i skolor på Nya Zeeland i samarbete med Universitet i Auckland. Mikael är också huvudhandledare för Dan Wahlborg som forskar om frisättning av allergener från björkpollen.
